The American champion yacht "Puritan," modelled by Edward Burgess of Boston, Mass : winner of the two races for the "America's cup" against the English cutter "Genesta" at New York, Sept. 14th and 16th, 1885.
Depicts the yacht Puritan sailing in the water with other boats' sails seen in the distance.; "Length over all, 93 feet. On water line, 80 feet. Beam, 22 feet 7 inches. Draught, 8 feet 5 inches. Length mast from deck to hounds, 60 feet. Topmast from fid to sheave, 44 ft. Bowsprit, outboard, 38 feet. Boom, 76 feet. Gaff, 47 feet."; "Copyright 1885, by Currier & Ives, N.Y."
