According to local sports researcher Bob Schichtel, in a Grand Rapids Herald December 1947 article, Marve Bylsma, Christian High Class of 1940, was recognized for still being a top performer in Grand Rapids Basketball circles after ten competitive years. Bylsma played at Christian High, Calvin College and Western Michigan University as well as on the area's prominent AAU and Semi-Pro teams. Bylsma is pictured here working for the Post Office during the Christmas season.
