According to local sports researcher Bob Schichtel: As Godwin Heights 6'9" All State Center Art Spoelstra goes high to receive an entry pass, East Grand Rapids #11 Dave Nash and #10 Dave McLaughlin move to defend him. EGR #5 Jon Parrish watches the action. Nash would also be named All State and McLaughlin would receive Honorable Mention as East Grand Rapids would go on to win the Class B State Championship in 1950.
