<p>Bob Schichtel, local sports researcher, further describes the photograph:</p><blockquote>This picture shows the physical nature of a game played in smaller gyms with smaller court dimensions. The lane was only six feet wide until the 1956-57 season when it doubled to twelve feet. There was no three point shot. The game was played closer to the basket and players were not spread out like today. In this picture six players are vying for the ball in the lane. Those players are, from the left, Rockford Rams #23 Gerald Nichols, #25 Bob Franchett, #28 Jack Richardson and East Pioneers #3 Bob Lee, #13 John Gardner, and #12 Jerry LeDonne.</blockquote>
