The photograph was taken at the bank branch's grand opening on June 13, 1964. View shows two men wearing suits looking at punch cards in the bank's new IBM computer room. In the background is a large computer along wall. According to an article in the Kalamazoo Gazette reporting on this event (dated June 12, 1964), outlines the layout of the building. The computer center was one of two operations located in the basement of the building and would handle the sorting of checks, posting and checking account work. The photograph was part of the eight days of open house activities following the ribbon-cutting dedication. Large numbers throughout the room may indicate "stations" along a tour, part of the open house. The building was demolished in 2023.
