In the background, are women in dresses and two rows of young men in uniform, all seated behind music stands. To the far left of the stage is a narrator or master of ceremonies. The stage is seen from a balcony. The photograph was taken for the Kalamazoo Gazette. According to Gazetteer articles published between March 26-29, 1943, the Kalamazoo Central High School presented a 300 cast variety show entitled "Yanks--Our Thanks" in order to honor those serving in the armed forces. The entertainment featured the evolution of America in dance, dramatic skits, and music.
