Enlistment of Sickles' brigade, N.Y.
Union General Daniel Sickles is seen enlisting men in the Five Points District, New York. The crowd is depicted as being unruly, and one man is stealing a bottle from the recruiter's pocket. In the right background a woman hands out pipes in front of a sign reading, "Pipes for the noble saviors of their country by Mrs. Higby."
