Exterior of the Fox Jewelers and Opticians retail store at 83 Monroe Avenue NW the window display advertises famous watches, Bulava, Gruen, Elgin, Benrus, Hamilton. They advertise "Diamonds for Romance" on credit terms. Also on display are radios, clocks, and eye glasses. Portions of the businesses next door are in view, one advertising a St. Patrick's Day special on Planters Peanuts. The section of Monroe from Pearl St. to Division was renamed Monroe Center in 1979.
