Seen at left are Daniel Webster and Henry Clay, and at right are Martin Van Buren and Thomas Hart Benton. A portrait of Washington hangs at left above Clay and a portrait of Napoleon Bonaparte hangs at right above Jackson.; "Entered according to act of Congress in the year 1836, by H.R. Robinson, in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States of the Southern District of New York."
