Judge Samuel Dexter house / Gordon Hall, Dexter, MI (D70)

Description:

[Built in 1843 for Judge Dexter, after his death in 1983 his daughter Millicent managed the estate and added the tower. The Dexter family sold the estate in 1900 to Thomas Brikett. At Birkett's death the house was sold to George Crumrine. The house fell into disrepair In 1939 Katherine Dexter McCormick, granddaughter of Judge Dexter, purchased the house and be restoration efforts. She left the property to the University of Michigan. It was purchased by the Dexter Area Historical Society in 2006.
