Depicts the commencement of a nineteenth century version of the parable of the Prodigal Son. A wealthy man says goodbye to his son while passing to him what looks to be a thick pocketbook. Two women are grabbing his arms, beseeching him to stay. At right, another woman and two men look on. At left, two young men are waiting for the son so they can depart.; Includes descriptions of the image in both French and Spanish below the respective language's titles.
