He wears a belt plate with initials "US," and on the table beside him is a shako hat with initials "VCG" reversed, possibly an acronym for the Valley City Guards, a militia unit out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.; Title devised by cataloger.; Note inside case, behind plate: Look here upon this picture and on this[?] tho counterfeit presentation ...
