Black-and-white photograph of performers on stage in the auditorium of the Salvation Army Citadel, Kalamazoo, Michigan. View shows women from the Home League (Ladies Aid) of the Salvation Army in costume during a theatrical performance. The women are sitting on a semi-circle on a variety of furniture and have scrapes of fabric on their laps. According to the Kalamazoo Gazette dated April 14, 1983, page 8, the Ladies Aid of the Salvation Army sponsored a program which included a skit called, "The Rag Carpet Cutting Bee." The article identifies the cast (placement in photograph unidentified): Mrs. Neal DeKorte, Mrs. Neal Van Sweden, Mrs. John VandeWerken, Mrs. William Trevithick, and Miss Ilene Van Sweden. The program was followed by a sale in which the proceeds would to to the "Self-Denial Missionary Fund."
