View shows women from the Home League (Ladies Aid) of the Salvation Army in costume during a theatrical performance. The women are sitting on a semi-circle on a variety of furniture and have scrapes of fabric on their laps. According to the Kalamazoo Gazette dated April 14, 1983, page 8, the Ladies Aid of the Salvation Army sponsored a program which included a skit called, "The Rag Carpet Cutting Bee." The article identifies the cast (placement in photograph unidentified): Mrs. Neal DeKorte, Mrs. Neal Van Sweden, Mrs. John VandeWerken, Mrs. William Trevithick, and Miss Ilene Van Sweden. The program was followed by a sale in which the proceeds would to to the "Self-Denial Missionary Fund."
