Light hand coloring.; Case: front cover detached, leather with geometric pattern and two hook-and-eye locks, two ornate oval mats.; Preserver with left-hand image patented in 1862. Likely a replacement for original preserver.; Hand-written contemporary note in back of case underneath right-hand image plate: March 1st 1858 by I.T. Millis Detroit.; Left-hand image plate stamped: melainotype for Neff.; Title devised by cataloger.
