C. Walter Tuttle, a retiring railroad engineer, stands, half bent forward, over a public sink at the Kalamazoo Depot for his last day of work. View includes four sinks and a wall-mounted phone with crank. According to the Kalamazoo Gazette, C. Walter Tuttle worked for 40 years in railroading on the New York Central System traveling almost daily through Kalamazoo to Detroit or Chicago. The photograph was taken for Lowell Plasterer and the Kalamazoo, Gazette. The photograph was published in the Kalamazoo Gazette, July 31, 1940, page 17.
