Scene from a pantomimic melodrama at women's dinner meeting
Women employees of Consumers Energy Company acting during a melodramatic scene as part of the dinner entertainment on Tuesday, February 11, 1941. According to a Kalamazoo Gazzette article, February 10, 1941, dinner entertainment was provided by [Clyde?] Hinckley and Clare Ebemeyer. View also includes women holding props, and one playing the piano. The dinner meeting was an annual banquet of the Women's Committee of the Kalamazoo divisivion of Consumers Energy Company and took place in the Park-American Hotel. The highlight of the meeting was to welcome fifteen new members to the social organization. The photograph was taken for Frederick Adams and the Consumers Power Company. Note: There is a texture on parts of the negative that were not part of the original photograph. This does not minimize the value of the imagery.
