Street sprinklers
Description:
Three carts each pulled by a team of horses. Two men are standing beside, and three men are seated on top of the carts. Note on the back of the photo reads "old style carts for sprinkling streets." Two advertisements are on the cart to the left, one advertisement is for Parasols at an unknown shop on Monroe, and the second for A. H. Fowle Wallpaper, Paints Oil and Glass, 37 Ionia St, south of Monroe. Mr. Fowle, a veteran of the Civil War, died in November, 1904, at the age of 63. His wife Helen continued the business until shortly before her death in 1914.
