Description:

Finished, colored, strip map of the British bypass of the lower Missississippi using the Iberville River.; Includes a paragraph of explanatory remarks and notations along the course of the route.; Marks site of Fort Bute.; A written report, with Strachan's recommendations, is dated 28 January 1767 and addressed to Gen. William Tayler and enclosed in Tayler to Gage 3 March 1767. The map was forwarded to Gage by Tayler in a letter from Pensacola dated 23 January 1767.; Several of the notations on the map are in the hand of Gen. Tayler.
