Scrapbook of black and white photographs featuring Merze Tate’s trips through Europe, Egypt and India. Photographs feature major tourist sites including the Tower Bridge and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, Kehlsteinhaus (Germany), Via della Conciliazione, an aerial view of the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica (Italy), various ruins in Greece, temples in India, the Taj Mahal, views from a Hill Station in India, and views of Delphi. Also included are ghettos and construction sites in London, the Indonie Garden Restaurant, a suburban home in Switzerland owned by an African American family, school girls in India, Egyptian farmers working, rural areas along a river (possibly Egypt or India), a missionary rest home, domestic life in India, refugee huts and people in poverty in Calcutta.
